The green actor is kitting out his island retreat – which he has reportedly nicknamed ‘F**k Off Island’ - in the Bahamas with a grid-independent solar hydrogen system. The pioneering set up converts sunlight into electricity, providing sufficient power to run his home. Johnny’s environmentally friendly lifestyle recently earned him a nomination for the ultimate green celebrity. Playhouse Disney's Playing for the Planet Awards has announced a shortlist of 10 stars, including Sienna Miller and Leonardo DiCaprio, who have been nominated for the Greenest Star prize for using their fame to promote environmental issues. The Hollywood superstar – who also has homes in France and Los Angeles with his partner Vanessa Paradis and two children Lily-Rose Melody, nine, and Jack, six - bought the 40-acres of land for $3 million in 2005.

50 Cent is suing US fast food chain Taco Bell for using his name in a "guerrilla" advertising campaign. The 'In Da Club' singer, real name Curtis Jackson, is asking for over $1 million in damages from the company - who asked him to change his name to 79 Cent, 89 Cent or 99 Cent to promote their food. The suit reads: "Taco Bell traded on the name of the world's biggest hip-hop star to draw attention to its new, hip-hop-based advertising campaign, and thereby generated massive publicity for its business." Taco Bell President Greg Creed wrote to the singer earlier this year, promising to donate $10,000 to his favorite charity if he agreed to change his professional tag. He wrote: "We know that you adopted the name 50 Cent years ago as a metaphor for change. We at Taco Bell are also huge advocates for change. We encourage you to 'Think Outside the Bun' and hope you accept our offer." 50 is upset his fans are accusing him of "selling out" by agreeing to promote the brand's value menu, not realizing the adverts were unauthorized.

Britney Spears' mother Lynne accidentally killed a 12-year-old boy when she was 20-years-old, it has been revealed. The 53-year-old hit the boy, Anthony Winters, with her car in 1975 in Kentwood, Louisiana, when he was riding on his bicycle. He later died as a result of the injuries he suffered from the accident. Lynne's representative said: "Anthony Winters and his friend were in the road on a curve on a bicycle. As Lynne rounded the curve she could not avoid the boy in the street as there was oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. "Lynne realized the boy was struck immediately and to this day is grieved by the Winters' loss of their son." A friend of Lynne - the mother of troubled singer Britney and new 17-year-old mom Jamie Lynn - said she is still haunted by the incident. The friend said: "To this day, Lynne hasn't gotten over what she did. She gets that terrified look in her eye when she is thinking about it. She has told only a few people about the accident and always says, 'Please don't think I'm a bad person.' "

The ‘Hancock’ actor – who has made $80 million in the last year – became the first ever actor to have eight consecutive movies break the $100 million mark at the box office. His earnings caused him to shoot to the top of Forbes magazine’s list, ahead of ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’ star Johnny Depp who earned $72 million. She revealed: "My guiltiest pleasure is McDonalds and I adore their French fries. I also love peanut butter and jam sandwiches in the morning after a night out. "When I was filming 'The Parent Trap' in London all I wanted was American food like Dunkin' Donuts and McDonalds but I was only young.
